We find the paper
Good bonds are not sitting on a shelf waiting to be bought. They are sourced from issuers, arrangers and the secondary market by people who know where to look and who return their calls.
KotiFinvest is not yet open for business. The company is in formation and has not received regulatory approval to operate a bond platform. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any investment. Registration details appear as placeholders until they are issued.
KotiFinvest is being built to change that — an online bond platform through which individuals, families and company treasuries can lend directly to Indian businesses, on terms they can see and understand.
KotiFinvest is an online bond platform. People come to us to lend money to Indian companies for a fixed period at a fixed rate, and to get that money back with interest on dates agreed at the outset. That is the whole business.
We are not a wealth manager, a broker of everything, or an app with a bond section bolted on. A narrow business can be run well by a small team, and a bond is a promise that deserves to be explained carefully rather than sold quickly.
Good bonds are not sitting on a shelf waiting to be bought. They are sourced from issuers, arrangers and the secondary market by people who know where to look and who return their calls.
Not everything we are offered reaches the platform. We say no to issuers we would not lend our own money to, and we say why. A shorter list is more useful than a longer one.
Every investor sees the dates they will be paid, the amounts, what could go wrong and what is not guaranteed — before committing, in language that does not require a finance degree.
Indian companies have borrowed from each other, from banks and from institutions for decades. The sums are enormous and the machinery is mature. What was missing was a way for an ordinary saver to take part. Minimum investments ran into lakhs, prices were hard to discover, and there was no regulated place to go.
Three things changed that. The regulator created a formal category for online bond platforms and set rules for who may run one. The minimum investment was cut to ₹10,000, which put bonds within reach of a salaried saver for the first time. And a generation of Indians who already invest through their phones began looking for something steadier than equities and better paid than a deposit.
The field is young. Fewer than thirty platforms are approved, none has become the obvious choice, and between them they have placed a small fraction of what Indian companies raise each year. That is unusual: a market this large is rarely this unsettled.
A bond is a promise with dates on it. Our job is to make sure the person lending the money understands the promise, and the person making it is worth believing.

Most of what protects an investor on a bond platform is decided before the first customer arrives — in how the company is set up, who it answers to, and what it is not allowed to touch.
Investors pay the market's own settlement system, not us. Bonds are registered in the investor's name from the moment they are bought. If this company ceased to exist tomorrow, nobody's holdings would be affected.
Operating a bond platform in India requires approval from the securities regulator and admission by a stock exchange. Both involve scrutiny of the company, its directors and its shareholders, and both are conditions of doing business at all.
Four directors, three of them independent of management and of the founding shareholder. An audit committee chaired by an independent director. Minutes, registers and conflicts recorded properly from the first meeting.
A compliance officer appointed before the business opens, reporting to the board rather than to the chief executive, with the standing to stop a product or a promotion. The role is a statutory requirement; we treat it as a real one.
Internal audit, systems audit and security testing by outside firms, repeated annually rather than once for the licence application. Findings go to the audit committee, not only to management.
The platform is licensed from an established provider rather than written in-house. It frees a small company to spend its people on sourcing bonds and serving investors — the two things nobody can outsource.
We would rather publish this and be held to it than describe ourselves as further along than we are. Timings are our current expectation, not a commitment — regulatory approval takes as long as it takes.
Company incorporated, brand cleared, founding shareholders in place, board constituted and the compliance officer appointed.
Regulatory application filed, exchange membership sought, capital placed, platform tested and independently audited before anyone is admitted.
Platform opens to a first group of investors, with a deliberately short list of bonds and a deliberately small number of customers while we learn.
More issuers, more kinds of bond, a relationship desk for families and company treasuries, and published figures on how our investors have actually fared.
KotiFinvest is funded by its founding shareholder and a small group of invited investors, in stages tied to what the company has actually achieved. We have raised what the business needs to reach its own feet, and no more.
A private holding and advisory group operating from Singapore, Dubai, Hyderabad, Zürich and London, with practices spanning capital, advisory and venture building. KotiFinvest is an Angaros venture rather than a client.
The framework through which Angaros holds long-horizon positions, weighing human, social, financial and spiritual returns together. It is the reason this company is being built slowly and with a small team.

We read everything. Investors, issuers, arrangers and candidates get a reply; everyone else gets one if we can be useful.
